Looking for information on Angel Baby Doe

A resident of Johnson County, TX. on November 18th, 2001, was picking up cans on the side of Briar Oaks Road, when he found a small child. The resident had come across a newborn baby girl who was wrapped in a jacket and was recently deceased. The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office was immediately dispatched to the scene, which was in the incorporated area of Briar Oaks, TX.

It was evident that Angel Baby Doe, the name she has been given, had been born alive that day, outside of a medical facility. Due to the nature of the child’s discovery, foul play has been determined. The Sheriff’s office has worked tirelessly these past 19 ½ years to find out the identity of this child. Various leads and tips have come in during those years, yet none have revealed her identity. It is clear that this case remains very personal for all involved.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office has partnered with Othram Inc. to use advanced DNA testing and forensic genealogy to establish an identification of, or to find the closest living relative to, the unknown child. If anyone has information that could aid this investigation, they are encouraged to contact the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office at 817-556-6058, or coldcase@johnsoncountytx.org.
A DNASolves fund has been established to cover the costs of testing and analysis for this case. Anyone can contribute by visiting https://dnasolves.com/articles/johnson_county_angel_baby.
