Deputy Sheriff
Clifton Leigh Taylor

End of Watch: Saturday, April 23, 2011

Deputy Clifton Taylor was shot and killed after he and other deputies responded to a domestic disturbance on Eagle Court near Venus shortly after 4 pm.

Upon arriving at the scene the deputies began searching for the male subject. Deputy Taylor was shot as he opened the door to a shed located near the property. The other deputies returned fire and killed the suspect.

Deputy Taylor was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds.

Deputy Taylor had served with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office for three years. He is survived by his fiancĂ©e, parents, and siblings.

George Alvis Robinson

End of Watch: Thursday, February, 1971

Deputy George Robinson was killed in an accident when his patrol car collided with a mule as he responded to an emergency call.

The collision caused his car to leave the roadway and it landed in some other nearby wrecked cars, causing it to not be easily seen. After Deputy Robinson failed to respond to radio calls other deputies were sent to search for him. The accident scene was found several hours later.

Deputy Robinson had served with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office for only a few months. He was survived by his wife.
